Sgt. Rock was the first band of Stevo, later known as the bassist and vocalist of Impetigo. Active during the late 1980s, the band delivered raw crossover thrash inspired by acts such as S.O.D. and Cryptic Slaughter. Several songs later evolved into early Impetigo classics, including “My Lai,” while the main riffs of “The Revenge of the Scabby Man” and “Harbinger of Death” also originated during this period.
In 2026, F.O.A.D. Records released a compilation of the band’s work. This vinyl reissue revives the band’s 1987 demo, My Friend Lost His Face, alongside rehearsal recordings from the same year, faithfully preserving the original cassette’s tracklist. In addition, the release includes a bonus CD featuring three complete live performances from 1987, offering a comprehensive document of Sgt. Rock’s short but influential legacy.
