Noel Kemper and Paolo Deodato formed Gruesome Stuff Relish in 1999. The band originated in Mieres, Asturias, Spain. It included former members of the 1990s death metal act Repugnance.
The band blends death metal and goregrind with energetic horror punk riffs. Their music features guttural dual vocals and frantic guitar tremolo. Italian Giallo horror films heavily influence their lyrics. They also write songs about zombies, cannibals, and B-movie gore.
The group released several early EPs and split releases. American label Razorback Records signed the group soon after.
In 2002, the band released their full-length debut album, Teenage Giallo Grind. The release cemented their reputation in the underground extreme metal scene.
Gruesome Stuff Relish unleashed their second album, Horror Rises from the Tomb, in 2008. Consequently, international festivals invited the band to perform live. They signed with German label FDA Rekotz in 2011. Subsequently, they dropped Sempiternal Death Grind in 2013.
Furthermore, the band maintained a busy tour schedule across Europe. Lineup changes occurred over the years, but Noel Kemper kept leading the group. They released their fourth album, Kill Baby Grind, in 2021.
In 2026, Extremely Rotten Productions reissued the band’s debut album, Teenage Giallo Grind, on vinyl for the first time.
