Ceremonium were formed in 1992 as part of the prolific New York death metal scene. Nightfall in Heaven was their debut 7″ EP, released in 1993 by Necroharmonic Productions. Two years later, their debut album, Into the Autumn Shade, was released on CD by Fadeless Records. This is their most acclaimed release, merging the heavy New York death metal sound with the gloomiest European death/doom melancholy. The band vanished into oblivion for years, until an appropriately titled album, No Longer Silent, was released in 2000. The album didn’t receive much attention, and Ceremonium disbanded shortly afterward.
In 2026, Extremely Rotten Productions released Into the Autumn Shade on vinyl for the first time, leading the band to finally reunite.
